Visit a charming little town at the the gate of the Danube bend
This picturesque town often called as Artist’s Village is located in a beautiful surroundings of Budapest, it is only 23 km or 14 miles from the capital.
Lots of cafes, galleries, restaurants, wine cellars, small walking streets and very friendly atmosphere makes your trip memorable here.
We explore the old baroque part of the town, walk along narrow streets, visit the main square where you can find unusual merchant houses and several churches which churches make Szentendre unique as well, we can visit one of the Serbian Orthodox one if you want, then walk up to the panorama point, for a great view and you will understand why Szentendre has a special atmosphere.
This small town has a lot to offer. Next to its narrow cobble-stoned streets, romantic alleys, several churches and colourful houses there are many museums and galleries so we can visit one of them, e. g. the Margit Kovács Ceramic Museum.
If you want we can include a wine tasting in the National wine museum which can be found in an antient wine cellar set up below the water level of the Danube.
Next to Szentendre the is the Skanzen Open Air Museum where you can learn about the way of life in the Hungarian language area from the 2nd half of the 18th century to the 1st half of the 20th century, through original and authentic objects, relocated houses arranged in old settlement patters. If you are interested in and you have some extra time we can extend the tour and visit the Skanzen village homes.
